COUNSELORS

Counselors in Ohio may hold one of the following licenses: LPC, LPCC, or LPCC-S. To qualify for these licenses, individuals must meet specific state requirements, including earning a graduate degree in counseling, completing required counselor training credits, passing mandated exams, and fulfilling supervision and client contact hours. SOCIAL WORKERS

Social workers in Ohio may hold one of the following licenses: LSW, LISW, or LISW-S. To qualify, individuals must meet state requirements, which include earning a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctorate degree in social work, passing the required exams, and completing supervision and client contact hours. MARRIAGE AND FAMILY THERAPISTS

Marriage and Family Therapists in Ohio may hold one of the following licenses: MFT, IMFT, and IMFT-S. To qualify, individuals must meet state requirements, which include earning a master’s or doctorate degree in marriage and family therapy, completing required counselor training credits, passing required exams, and completing supervision and client contact hours. ART THERAPISTS
Healing Through Creativity
Art therapists in Ohio must be at least 18 years of age and hold a master’s degree or higher from an art therapy graduate program approved by the American Art Therapy Association (or its successor organization). Additionally, candidates are required to complete specific postgraduate supervised clinical experience. MUSIC THERAPISTS

Music therapists in Ohio must be at least 18 years of age and hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in music therapy from a program approved by the American Music Therapy Association (or its successor organization).
