Rachel Tassile, LISW, TF-CBT, EMDR

Licensed Independent Social Worker, Certificate in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Certified in EMDR

Rachel Tassile (pronouns: she/her) is an experienced licensed independent social worker who works with children, adolescents, and adults. Her specialty interests include: PTSD and trauma, first-responder trauma, ADHD, autism, foster care and adoption transitions and issues, OCD, and LGBTQIA+ issues. Rachel completed her advanced education at Calvin University, earning a bachelor’s degree in social work. She continued her education at Fordham University, earning a master’s degree in social work. Over the last several years, Rachel has taken specialized trainings in trauma, first responder trauma, and ADHD symptom management. She earned a certificate in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) in 2019, and EMDR in 2024. Before venturing into the private realm, Rachel worked in the Cleveland Public School system as a school-based therapist working with children in grades kindergarten through 12th. Over the last 10 years, she has had the opportunity of working with many populations including individuals who struggle with hoarding, college freshmen adjusting with ADHD, couples experiencing infidelity, children in the foster system, first responders and survivors of sexual assault.

Aside from clinical work, Rachel has spoken on sexual assault and anti-human trafficking panels with C.A.S.T. (Citizens Against Sex Trafficking), and volunteered with Jake’s Reach, an inclusive substance use reduction non-profit in Akron, Ohio and recently presented at John Carroll University. Rachel’s approach to counseling is trauma-informed, emotionally focused, and strengths-based. She views counseling like weight lifting; you cannot just jump to lifting 400lbs, you have to start small. She believes that even little progress IS progress and should be acknowledged, celebrated, and used as a learning opportunity for further growth. In addition to being an empathetic and loving listener, Rachel is also quick thinking and genuine. She is known for using movement, humor, and creative meditation in sessions. Her strengths include compassion, kindness, creativity, making others laugh, and acknowledging others’ strengths.
