Program Description
This continuing education program is designed for clinicians seeking to deepen their understanding and clinical competence in treating obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Participants will review the core symptoms and diagnostic features of OCD, including common presentations and differential considerations. The training will then explore the theoretical foundations of Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) treatment, and attendees will learn the key components of ERP and how it works with clients who experience OCD-related symptoms. Through applied examples and practical guidance, clinicians will develop skills in implementing ERP within therapy sessions, including constructing individualized exposure hierarchies. This program aims to enhance participants’ confidence and effectiveness in delivering ERP interventions in real-world clinical settings.
Learning Objectives
- Identify and describe the core symptoms and diagnostic features of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).
- Explain the theoretical basis and key components of Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) as an evidence-based treatment for OCD.
- Demonstrate the application of ERP techniques within clinical sessions, including the development and implementation of exposure hierarchies.
