Program Description

Attendees will learn about supervision models, developmental stages and transitions within supervision, and learning styles and models to promote knowledge, skills, and awareness for both supervisees and supervisors. Additionally, attendees will address the role of cultural differences, multicultural and social justice competencies, and relational dynamics within the supervisory relationship to build – and maintain – a solid foundation for success in supervision.

This workshop is 6 supervision credit hours for counselors.

Learning Objectives

  • Learn the most commonly used and researched-based models of clinical supervision.
  • Learn stages of supervisee/supervisor development and learning models.
  • Understand how to utilize supervision interventions that reflect a developmental supervisory approach.
  • Understand the importance of cultural differences, multicultural and social justice competencies, and ways to approach supervision with a culturally sensitive and humble attitude.
  • Examination of one’s supervisory role in developing a strong foundation for supervision and determining your boundaries in supervision.
